FAMILY RELATED LITERATURE

THREE BOOKS OF ALTIZER GENEALOGY

EMERA ALTIZER AND HIS DESCENDANTS

With Sketches of Connected Families

By

RUBY ALTIZER ROBERTS

and

ROSA ALTIZER BRAY

This, the very first book about the Altizer family, was written in 1937. It is a soft bound volume of 164 pages that contains a lot of diligent research (before the computer era), family stories, history and background information. Several of the original publication are still floating around, although the only way you will get one is to inherit or steal it.

Reprints are available at Higginsonbooks.com at a cost of $27.00.
(As of 10/10/07, this book is still available and the link has been updated.  However the price is now $39.00).

This book is over 600 pages of family lineage. It is 8.5x11 inches, ring bound listing of several hundred Altizers and their relatives and would be a great addition to your research library. I believe the price of the book is $35.00. It is available directly from Ms. McColman at:   (as of 1999)

THE ALTIZER FAMILY

Sons and Daughters of The Old Dominion

by

William E. Payne

&

Berdine E. Warden Payne

This book would be a beautiful addition to anyone's library. It is 8½  x 11 inches, and offset printed on 60 pound acid free paper.  It contains over 740 pages including 83 half-tone photographs, an index, and a bibliography. It has a hard binding in a deep green color, with gold foil letters stamped on the front and spine, and the spine is over sewn for sturdiness.

Do not be deceived by the title.  It is not just about the Altizer families that lived in Virginia.  Bill has researched all branches of the Emera Altizer family and their descendants and compiled as much information about each branch as could be located, regardless of where they lived.

SORRY!  Bill has asked me to inform everyone that the 200 copies of this book that were printed are now all gone.  (3/1/07)

Unfortunately this timely, topical little newsletter is no longer being published. It was issued for about 4 years and, I believe, Tamara does still sell back copies. Her email address is delianmara@aol.com. Her website link is on the front page of this site.
